What is a Physiotherapist?
Physiotherapists are university trained and are experts in injury diagnosis, injury treatment, exercise prescription, injury prevention, rehabilitation and many other areas of sport and health and fitness.
What do I need to bring?
In light of Covid-19 a face mask/covering is required unless you are exempt under HSE guidelines. If you have a lower limb injury or back injury, please wear shorts to enable your physiotherapist to fully assess your injury. If you have a shoulder injury the area will also need to be visible for the physiotherapist to assess the area fully. Be prepared to provide full details of your previous medical history or surgical history. If you have had any relevant recent investigations, please bring the reports and a list of your current medication.
How many visits will I need?
The number of treatments will be discussed at your initial assessment. Treatment duration is dependent on your diagnosis, the severity of your symptoms, your past medical history, and many other factors. In general, the sooner you visit a Physio, the sooner you'll be back to your every day pain free life.
Where will the session take place?
Your appointment will take place in the comfort of either your own home or office. Please ensure you have a private space to feel comfortable to be assessed and talk opening about your injury or rehabilitation goals.
What COVID-19 precautions and procedures are in place?
All equipment will be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before and after use. All equipment is given an extra deep clean at the end of the day and at lunch time as an additional precaution. We require all clients to fill in a screening form prior to all physiotherapy/massage/Pilates appointments. We will also take your temperature at the start of every session. These precautions are in line with HSE and ISCP guidelines, these help us keep our clients safe. Our physiotherapists will wear full PPE during all treatment where we are unable to maintain >2meter social distancing, this includes a surgical mask, visor and apron. We will also provide surgical masks for any clients who do not have a face covering.
