Sports injury physio in Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
Being injured is frustrating, especially when you don’t know how long you’ll be out or whether it’ll happen again. Our sports injury clinic in Dublin 4 is led by Laura Bhreathnach, who has worked with Scottish Rugby, Scottish Golf and the Scottish Institute of Sport. You get the same approach elite athletes rely on: a clear diagnosis, a structured plan and a return to sport based on tests, not guesswork.
- Elite-sport experience
- Return-to-sport testing
- No GP referral needed
Injuries we see every week
- Hamstring & calf strains
- Ankle sprains
- Groin & hip pain
- Knee pain & ligament injuries
- Shin splints
- Achilles & heel pain
- Shoulder & rotator cuff injuries
- Back pain from training
- Tendon pain (tendinopathy)
From rugby, GAA, soccer and hockey to running, golf, tennis, padel and the gym: if you train, we can help.
How we get you back playing
- Diagnose it properly. A thorough assessment of the injury and how you move, so we know exactly what’s injured and why it happened.
- Settle it down. Hands-on treatment, dry needling where useful, and smart load management, so you stay as active as possible without flaring things up.
- Build it back stronger. A progressive strength and conditioning programme, using the gym equipment in our clinic, that targets the injured area and the weak links around it.
- Test before you return. We measure strength, power, balance and sport-specific movement, and compare sides, so the decision to return is based on numbers.
- Stay injury-free. You leave with a maintenance plan to reduce the chance of the same injury coming back.
“If you like a number, so does Laura.” Every stage has a clear, measurable goal, so you always know where you stand.
Injured? Don’t wait for it to settle on its own
The sooner an injury is assessed, the sooner you can train with confidence again.

Should I rest or keep training?
Complete rest is rarely the answer. Usually we modify your training so you stay fit while the injury recovers. Book an assessment and we’ll tell you exactly what’s safe to keep doing.
How quickly can I be seen?
We’re open 7am to 7pm, Monday to Friday, and you don’t need a GP referral. Book online to see the next available appointment.
Do I need a scan?
Most sports injuries can be diagnosed with a thorough clinical assessment. If a scan or a consultant’s opinion is needed, we’ll tell you and advise you on the next steps.
How do I know when I’m ready to go back?
We use objective tests of strength, hopping, balance and sport-specific movement, and compare your injured side with your good side. When you hit the targets, you’re ready.
Do you work with clubs and teams?
Laura has worked with rugby, GAA, golf and touch rugby teams. Get in touch through our contact page to talk about your club.
